Hon. David Kabanda has announced that Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba will contest for the presidency in Uganda’s 2031 general elections, a declaration expected to significantly shape the country’s political landscape ahead of the polls.
The Executive Secretary to the National Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Hon. David Kabanda, has announced that Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba will contest for the presidency in Uganda’s 2031 general elections.
Kabanda said he had been specifically dispatched by Gen. Muhoozi, the Chief of Defence Forces and PLU National Chairman, to communicate what he described as a landmark declaration that could significantly shape Uganda’s future political landscape.
According to Kabanda, Gen. Muhoozi’s decision to seek the presidency in 2031 has received the backing and approval of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
The announcement comes after Gen. Muhoozi publicly declared his intention to seek Uganda’s highest office in the 2031 elections, a development that has already generated significant political interest and discussion.
The declaration is expected to intensify political activity as parties, political movements and aspiring candidates begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2031 general elections.
Gen. Muhoozi, who currently serves as Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces and chairs the Patriotic League of Uganda, has increasingly remained at the centre of discussions surrounding the country’s future political leadership.
The 2031 race is now beginning to take shape, with Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s anticipated presidential bid emerging as one of the most significant developments in Uganda’s evolving political landscape.
