It is with immense gratitude, humility, and pride that I present this report on behalf of the Lions Club of Entebbe for the Lionistic Year 2025/2026.

This has truly been a year of impact, fellowship, growth, and renewed commitment to service.

Through teamwork, dedication, and the unwavering spirit of Lionism, our club actively engaged in all the Lions Global Causes and made meaningful contributions to our community and beyond.

The Lions Club of Entebbe remained intentional, visible, and impactful in environmental conservation.

Throughout the year, we planted trees, cleaned beaches along the shores of Lake Victoria, and organized a major environmental awareness walk in partnership with environmentalists, conservationists, and community stakeholders.

This collective effort culminated in a historic conservation milestone when illegal land titles issued to encroachers at Kitubulu Forest Reserve were on the directives of the president of the Republic of Uganda, cancelled following sustained advocacy.

As custodians of our environment, we take pride in having played a role in protecting this important natural ecosystem that borders Lake Victoria.

This achievement demonstrated the power of Lionism in championing sustainable environmental action and creating lasting change.

Health service remained at the heart of our activities. We successfully conducted a Mega Medical Camp at Entebbe Central Clinic, providing much-needed healthcare services to hundreds of community members.

The activity strengthened partnerships with sister Lions clubs and expanded our service reach. During the District Governor’s official visit, we also showcased our signature project, the Health Centre for the Elderly in Canaan Estates, Katabi.

We remain hopeful that the LCIF grant process initiated nearly two Lionistic years ago will soon come to fruition and significantly enhance this noble project for the benefit of our elderly population.

As Uganda’s gateway city, Entebbe had the distinct honour of hosting Lions Clubs International President AP Singh.

To commemorate the visit, a tree-planting exercise was conducted at the historic Entebbe Children’s Park, reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship.

We were equally privileged to welcome and bid farewell to several distinguished Lions leaders, including International Director Lion Oswald and First Vice International President-Elect Lion Manoj Shah. Such visits continue to inspire our members and strengthen our connection to the global Lions family.

We remain optimistic that ongoing efforts to secure a land title for the historic Entebbe Children’s Park will one day bear fruit, safeguarding this treasured community space for generations to come.

Our club proudly embraced the challenge of Mission 1.5 and delivered with purpose, says report

During the year, we inducted more than ten new Lions into our fellowship and successfully sponsored the formation of the new Lions Club of Entebbe Metropolitan.

This milestone reflects the growing influence of Lionism in Entebbe and our commitment to expanding service through membership growth.Indeed, the future of Lionism in Entebbe is bright.

The Lions Club of Entebbe remained actively engaged in empowering young people through mentorship, leadership development, and service.

We conducted visits to secondary schools and tertiary institutions, inspiring students to embrace leadership and community service.

These efforts culminated in the successful advancement of the proposed Leo Club of Fisheries Training Institute, Entebbe, while also strengthening the existing Leo Club of Entebbe through increased participation from students across university of Kisubi, Nkumba University, institute of land management and survey Entebbe, and various institutions,  within our community.

Our investment in youth today is an investment in the future of Lionism.

The club demonstrated unwavering support for the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) through multiple Melvin Jones Fellow (MJF) and Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow (PMJF) recognitions, as well as other fundraising and support initiatives.

These contributions reaffirm our commitment to supporting humanitarian service both locally and globally.

One of the year’s proudest moments came during the Multiple District Convention in Dar es Salaam, where the Lions Club of Entebbe won the prestigious Best Parade Uniform Award in District 411B.

The victory reflected the unity, discipline, pride, and enthusiasm of our members.

The trophy now occupies a place of honour among our achievements, reviving memories of a time when Entebbe proudly won this coveted award five times,on several occasions.

On a personal note, I was deeply honoured to be recognized as a Vision Champion and entrusted with the responsibility of serving as Zone 3 Chairperson.

I accept these recognitions not as personal achievements but as a challenge to serve more diligently and as inspiration to continue elevating the banner of friendship, fellowship, and service that defines the Lions Club of Entebbe.

Our Charter Night celebration in August at Keba Xpress Hotel was one of the most memorable events of the year.

The celebration was preceded by a community clean-up exercise at Kitoro Taxi Park and a colourful march through the streets of Entebbe led by a brass band.

During the gala evening, each Past President lit a commemorative candle, symbolizing the club’s 23 years of dedicated service.

The occasion reminded us that Lionism remains vibrant, visible, and relevant within our community.

Members of our club participated in the African Lions Forum in Kigali, Rwanda, strengthening continental partnerships and reaffirming our place within the global Lions family of over 1.5 million members.

In partnership with the Batsikana Family, the club supported vocational skills development by donating a vehicle to Karuhembe Vocational Institute in Kebisoni, Rukungiri District.

The vehicle will support practical driving lessons and training opportunities for learners, contributing to livelihood improvement and economic empowerment.

The club implemented a vibrant road safety campaign in partnership with the Uganda Police Force.

Bodaboda riders received reflective safety jackets branded with educational messages, while motorists received road safety stickers carrying important awareness reminders.

This practical intervention contributed directly to safer roads and enhanced public awareness.

Throughout the year, members of the Lions Club of Entebbe actively supported fellow clubs across Zone 3 through joint service activities, including hunger relief initiatives, medical camps, and disaster preparedness projects.

These engagements reinforced the spirit of fellowship and reminded us that Lionism is strongest when Lions serve together.

While we celebrated many successes, we also experienced moments of sorrow.

We stood in solidarity with Lion David Tamale following the loss of his mother and with Lion Col. Nassan Begumisa following the loss of his beloved wife.

During these difficult times, the Lions of Entebbe demonstrated the true spirit of family and fellowship by supporting our colleagues every step of the way.

At the same time, we celebrated numerous personal achievements and milestones among our members, sharing both joys and challenges as one united Lions family.

The club continued to promote lifelong learning through guest speakers, educational presentations, and participation in the Saturday Morning Learning Breakfast sessions.

These opportunities enabled members to continually sharpen their leadership skills, broaden their knowledge, and deepen their understanding of Lionism.

As I conclude, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to every Lion of Entebbe for your commitment, sacrifice, generosity, and teamwork throughout the Lionistic Year 2025/2026.

Together, we served our communities with compassion and purpose. We grew our membership, strengthened partnerships, supported LCIF, empowered youth, protected the environment, promoted health, enhanced road safety, and proudly represented Entebbe and Uganda on national, regional, and international platforms.

This has truly been an impactful, colourful, and memorable year.

We  demonstrated that when Lions unite in service, communities thrive, lives are transformed, and hope is restored.

Indeed, where as we led to  and cheerfully  served to lead, we often remind ourselves.
