ABSA Bank Uganda has injected in a whooping Ug.Shs 185,000,000 to the upcoming 2026 Absa Chairman’s Bell Tournament at the Uganda Golf Club, Kampala.
This tournament will encompass four in one curtail for the gross amateurs (men and ladies), caddies, professionals and main event.
The caddies open the tournament on 13th July 2026. The gross amateurs will play on the 14th, 15th and 16th July 2026; the professionals will play from the 14th to 17th July 2026 with the main event coming on 18th July 2026.
The official launch was graced on 1st July 2026. “The chairman’s bell tournament has a tradition of over 70 years. This is the cherished annual tradition for golfers and partners. We are here to celebrate competitiveness. Over 250 golfers are expected to take part. We thank the Absa Bank Uganda Limited” Paul Nuwagaba, chairman remarked.
Absa Bank Managing Director David Wandera hinted about the community impact for the banking institution as they foster development.
“For the 8th consecutive year, Absa Bank is glad to sponsor this tournament. There is belief in growing impact of Uganda’s sporting landscape. This is a pathway for talent development. The tournament retains strong tradition. We believe in community impact and driving development” Wandera remarked.
Prize money:
The caddies have Ug.Shs 2,000,000 in their bag. The gross amateur men will tussle for a kitty of Ug.Shs 4,000,000 whilst the ladies will partake Ug.Shs 2,000,000.
The professionals’ kitty has Ug.Shs 20,000,000.
