KISUBI, UGANDA – July 3, 2026
Michelangelo College of Creative Arts (MCCAK), Kisubi, today celebrated a historic milestone as 136 students graduated with Diplomas, Certificates, Advanced Certificates, and Foundation Certificates in various creative arts disciplines during the institution’s 12th Graduation Ceremony, held at its main campus in Kisubi, Wakiso District.
The colorful ceremony attracted more than 1,500 guests from Uganda and across the East African region, including religious leaders, government officials, development partners, academicians, parents, alumni, artists, designers, and creative industry stakeholders.
The graduation was held under the theme:
“Empowering Creative Minds for Innovation, Employment and Sustainable Development”
The ceremony commenced with a Thanksgiving Holy Mass led by Rev. Dr. Fr. Ssemusu Laurence, who served as the Main Celebrant and Senior Special Guest. In his homily, Fr. Ssemusu urged graduates to use their talents and skills to serve humanity, promote ethical values, and contribute positively to society.
“Education should not only equip you with skills but also shape your character and inspire you to become responsible citizens. Use your creativity to build communities, create opportunities, and glorify God through your work,” he emphasized.
The Chief Guest of Honor, Rev. Bro. Hillary Kazoora, Superior General of the Bannakaroli Brothers of St. Charles Lwanga (BSCL), congratulated the graduates upon successfully completing their studies and challenged them to become ambassadors of innovation and professionalism within the growing creative economy.

He praised Michelangelo College of Creative Arts for its commitment to nurturing talent, creativity, entrepreneurship, and practical skills among young people.
“The creative arts industry continues to offer immense opportunities for employment, self-reliance, and social transformation. As graduates, you are entering a world that increasingly values creativity, innovation, and practical competence. Be courageous, embrace lifelong learning, and use your gifts to transform society,” Rev. Bro. Kazoora said.
The graduation ceremony was also graced by Rev. Bro. Casio, Provincial Superior of the Brothers of Christian Instruction and Chancellor of the University of Kisubi, who commended the College for its contribution to skills development and youth empowerment in Uganda and the wider East African region.
Other distinguished guests included representatives from government ministries and agencies, local government leaders, university administrators, heads of educational institutions, cultural leaders, development partners, members of the creative industry, and Miss Ability Uganda, who applauded the College’s efforts toward inclusive education and empowering learners with diverse talents and abilities.
Speaking during the ceremony, Rev. Bro. Frederick Musaazi, BSCL, Principal and Initiator of Michelangelo College of Creative Arts, described the graduation as a testament to the institution’s continued growth and commitment to excellence.
“Today we celebrate not only academic achievement but also creativity, resilience, innovation, and the transformative power of education. These graduates represent the future of Uganda’s creative economy. We are proud of their accomplishments and confident that they will make meaningful contributions to society,” he said.
The Principal further highlighted the College’s achievements in expanding academic programmes, strengthening partnerships, promoting creative entrepreneurship, and supporting practical skills development among young people.
According to the Academic Report presented by Mr. Sempala Joseph, Deputy Principal Academic Affairs and Academic Registrar, the graduates successfully completed programmes in:
– Diploma in Art and Design
– Diploma in Creative Fashion and Textile Design
– Diploma in Creative Graphic Communication Design
– Advanced Certificates in Creative Arts Skills
– Certificate Programmes in Creative Arts and Design
– Foundation Certificates in Creative Arts Skills
The ceremony also featured exhibitions of student artwork, fashion collections, graphic design projects, photography displays, and creative innovations, demonstrating the practical competencies acquired by graduates throughout their training.
Parents and guardians expressed appreciation for the institution’s role in nurturing talent and preparing learners for employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Several outstanding students were recognized for excellence in academic performance, innovation, creativity, leadership, and community service.

Founded under the guidance of the Bannakaroli Brothers of St. Charles Lwanga (BSCL), Michelangelo College of Creative Arts has established itself as one of Uganda’s leading institutions specializing in creative arts education, design, fashion, visual communication, and creative entrepreneurship.
As the celebrations concluded, graduates were encouraged to uphold professionalism, integrity, creativity, and innovation as they embark on the next chapter of their academic, professional, and entrepreneurial journeys.
The event ended with exhibitions, networking sessions, cultural performances, and a graduation reception attended by guests from across Uganda and East Africa.
