Mbarara City Football Club has unveiled new fresh players & new board members ahead of Uganda Premier League season 2026/27.
The following are the new board members for the Mbarara city football club season 2026/27.
This was revealed during the press conference at the Inspire Coffee Café in Kampala.
Hon Mwine Mpaka is the new board chairperson & club president while Nixon Tusiime is the board vice chairperson.
Hon Mwijukye Francis is a board member while Hon Mercy Kanyesigye, Eng.Jackson Byarugaba is board member in charge of Administration; Osborn Mushabe is board member in charge of Mobilization.
Anita Vicky is a board member in charge of sponsorships, Osborn Turyasingura is a board member in charge of Finance
Benon Akandwanaho is a board member while Elone Natumanya Ainebyoona is also board member & Kigongo Asuman is also a board member.
Mbarara City FC, this season is promising to win the Uganda Premier League and we have signed the following players including Brian Aheebwa from Arba Minch City FC ,Rogers Mugisha from KCCA, Ivan Bogere from UPDF, Eric Tumwine from Kitara FC, Iran Musinguzi from Kyambura Rasters, Akoragye Hassan from Kyambura Rasters, Solomon Okwalinga from Lugazi FC & Mahad Rashid from Bunyaruguru United.
We call upon everyone to come and support us as we begin the new journey, said Hon Mwine Mpaka also club president Mbarara City FC.
The Africa Coffee Park will the new main shirt for Mbarara City Football Club for the next four years.
We would like to thank the Africa Coffee Park for coming on board to support our vision of promoting talent development in Ankole and Uganda at large.
The Mbarara city football club is a merger between the Citizens football club and the Wakiso town council football club, since 2016 when it was formed.
We would like to inform the general public, most especially, its ‘supporters and stakeholders of the following significant changes in preparation for the new Uganda Premier League season 2026/27.
We have brought in new key stakeholders to push the club forward and a few of them have been appointed as Board Members.
We would like to thank the ‘Africa Coffee Park’ for coming on board to support our vision in promoting talent development in the Ankole region and Uganda at large & we are also calling for more sponsors to come on board, said Eng Jackson Byarugaba.
We have been hosting our trainings from the Rwamwanja Stadium in Kamwenge district but we are in final touches with the FUFA Licensing Committee to allow us return to Ankole.
Kakyeka stadium is in a dilapidated state as it was turned into an event facility for music concerts, celebrations by the Mbarara local government that manages it and cannot meet the standards of hosting the Uganda Premier League games, said report.
We have had to painfully take a decision to host games away from Mbarara where the club is based.
We are the only football club in Western Uganda on the top flights to the Uganda premier league & the ‘Big’ league with consistently for 10 years with full 8 years in the Uganda Premier League, said report.
