Vipers SC have completed the re-signing of experienced Ugandan international Farouk Miya, marking the return of one of the country’s most accomplished footballers ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Miya returns to the Venoms after years of playing abroad, bringing a wealth of experience gained in Europe, the Middle East, and East Africa. His arrival is expected to strengthen Vipers’ attacking options as the club prepares to compete for domestic honors and on the continental stage.
The versatile attacker, capable of operating as an attacking midfielder, winger, or forward, is renowned for his creativity, technical ability, and eye for goal. Throughout his career, Miya has represented the Uganda Cranes on numerous occasions, earning over 80 international caps and playing a pivotal role in Uganda’s qualification for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.
Since leaving Vipers earlier in his career, Miya has featured for clubs including Standard Liège, Mouscron, Konyaspor, Luhansk, and Çaykur Rizespor, among others, building a reputation as one of Uganda’s most successful exports.
His return is seen as a major statement of intent from Vipers SC, who continue to strengthen their squad with experienced and high-quality players. Miya’s leadership, experience, and winning mentality are expected to play a key role both on and off the pitch.
