Ugandan events promoter Norbert Twizire also Nobat Events, is cursing like hell after arresting like cockroach over funds amounting to one billions shillings(shs1bn) from the government coffers.
The money was part of a government grant intended to support events promoters who were hit hard by economic challenges.
Appearing before court alongside a co-accused named Twaha, Nobat faces charges of stealing 1 billion Shillings.It’s alleged that between August & September 2026, Nobat, Twaha, and several others still at large disappeared into thin air with the alleged government funds.
The group is accused of squandering over UGX 31.9 million in member savings and share capital between February and September.
We have highly established that Norbert Twizire also chairman of the Kampala & Beyond United Music Promoters SACCO used his office and dished out the SACCO to a few members of his interests. The remaining funds were reportedly moved directly into Nobat’s personal bank account.
Uganda prime minister & head of government business, Robinah Nabbanja says she ‘ordered’ the arrest of events promoter Norbert Twizire, popularly known as Nobat Events, over allegations of mis-using Shs1 billion with a battling of fellow promoters.
Nabbanja said that Nobat & group associates walked to her office before receiving the government money.
Nobat used the money alone, prompting his associates to raise the matter with her office.
According to the Prime Minister, the dispute escalated after other promoters complained about the money they said had been obtained through their collective efforts.
Nabbanja said the associates also brought the matter to the attention of State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs Balaam Barugahara, who reportedly contacted her and helped facilitate the process that led to Nobat’s arrest.
Nobat recently appeared before the Makindye Magistrates Court on Monday, October 5, 2026 & was later remanded to the university of understanding in Luzira Prison.
He is scheduled to return to court on the 26th October, 2026 & get his canes of fooling around#
