Fly Express Boss Peter Kaggwa Golola & his former boss, Abiola Hood Walakira have buried their burning squabbles frustrating the transport industry.
Peter Kaggwa Golola have finally shook hands and danced on the same table of men with substance after exchanging blows on who is who in the transport affairs in Entebbe.
The war started from the Entebbe Stages, Conductors, and Drivers Association (ESCADA) authorities launching the ‘cartoon & baboons’ fights against the Fly Express transport agency headed by Kaggwa Golola.
It’s now official that Peter Kaggwa & Abiola Walakira have closed chapters of squabbles & started new pages of development in the transport industry with no one tiring each other.
Mayor Fabrice Brad Rulinda noted that before the formation of Fly Express association in 2021, the taxi operations were absolutely in a mess and thanked the association boss, Peter Kaggwa for reorganizing the transport business during the post COVID times.
“When I became mayor in 2021, I found the Entebbe Stages Conductors & Drivers Association authorities fighting each other like cocks & kept on plotting ,said report.
“So I sat down the two factions and reminded them to accept change,” Mayor Fabrice Rulinda said.
Abiola Walakira, said he is not at war with his rivals, the Fly Express Travellers’ Association and pledged to copy & paste their working methodologies including changing the ugly face of the transport industry of condemned mini buses plus the poor discipline.
The Fly Express Travellers’ Association head boss, Peter Kaggwa, said his association has committed to change the transport industry and every driver to benefit after saving money to acquire land.
Over fifty driver have signed for their land tittles at the Namayumba town estate land in Wakiso district,said Walakira.
However, he said that drivers who were inpatient were given back their money to stop making noise, he added.
Abdul Aziz Asaba also the former top executive member has falsely accused the Fly Express association boss, Peter Kaggwa of diverting Shs.2 billion from the association SACCO coffers & spending without accountability.
Fabrice Rulinda also Entebbe Mayor advised Fly Express taxi drivers who received land titles to develop their plots advised to develop them to stop spending on rent.
The Entebbe Municipality Mp Stephen Shyaka Gashaija, who donated Shs.3 million to Fly Express Travellers’ Association SACCO, urged the two rival factions to work together and advised the Walakira faction of the Entebbe Stages Conductors Drivers Association to emulate the Fly Express transport model in the execution of their taxi business & affairs.
The Fly Express Transport SACCO manager, Derrick Sebuliba, advised fellow drivers to continue saving more money in the SACCO to be able to develop themselves & the land .
He however revealed that biggest challenge the association faces is lack of a gazetted stages in Kampala & the taxi park doesn’t have adequate space for modern transport business.
The Entebbe police Community Liaison officer, Asp- Edith Atukundu, commended management of Fly Express Travellers’ Association for being disciplined to their customers and customer care to passengers.
The Fly Express Transport Association SACCO treasurer, Jassey Birungi, appealed to all drivers to join the SACCO & benefit like others from their savings.
