Uganda scholar and founding member of Action for Liberty and Economic Development nongovernmental organization has been selected to speak on a panel of economist at a global meeting about “Investing the future of Africa”, scheduled for next week from 17th-20th March 2026.
Mugabi John Socrates one of the few brains of the John Templeton Foundation that will be speaking on a panel of over twenty(26) economists including expert& professors from different top international universities plus Prof. Robert Kibuuka, a legal scholar from Makerere University school of Law.
Mugabi is a graduate of Economics from Kyambogo University in Kampala and founder of the free market think tank Action for Liberty and Economic Development in Uganda and a strong advocate of free market policies in Uganda.
ALED is a libertarian and free enterprise think tank that was established in 2017 with great desire of championing peace and human flourishing in Uganda and Africa as s continent.
Mugabi Socrates has defined all ‘odds’ of economists and shaped lives of people and organizations including starting the first Uganda Chamber of Commerce in Entebbe municipality.
He i has advocated for women’s rights, supported the youth, developed micro enterprises and built foreign cooperation plus development partners.
Other selected panelists for the global economists meeting include, Jeff Reid from Georgetown university,Mwenda Ntarangwi(United State University),Jose Minaku (Madagascar),Kurt Lockhart(Oxford University),Dr Mafini Dosso plus others.
