Road to Parliament 2026: Hon. Jesca Ababiku and Adjumani people; one heart

For the fourth successive term in office Hon. Jesca Ababiku seeks re-election to the national parliament of Uganda to represent the people of Adjumani district in one of the parliamentary seats reserved for women.

The name tag ‘Ababiku’ literally means ‘I don’t care’ but the personality of the legislator really cares for her people.

Since 2011 when first elected to represent the people of Adjumani District as an Independent candidate with 51.38% win (17,037 votes), edging another Jesca entity in Osuna Eriya (42.92%).

She boldly confesses the total transformation of Adjumani District since 1986 when the NRM took over power.

“Adjumani District has developed very much. There are now good roads, social infrastructural development, the schools, hospitals. We have the different funds allocated to districts” the NRM flag bearer revealed.

Hon. Ababiku testifies that president Museveni’s visit to Adjumani is more than a campaign trail but rather a celebration.

“The visit of His Excellency President Museveni is not only a campaign but a celebration. President Museveni is the only leader who has had our region at heart and will bring more developments. There is big ceremony to convey happiness to him. Lets give respect where it is due. He (President Museveni) suffered for us. Lets vote him massively” she adds.

Adjumani District has witnessed a drastic population growth given the massive influx of refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and South Sudan.

Hon. Ababiku owns two radio stations in Adjumani and Obongi; which she started for Information dissemination and mobilization of masses.
