Environment is among the priorities  in marking 100 years Uganda Athletics and Akii Bua 23rd Memorial

In celebration of Uganda Athletics century and the 23rd John Akii Bua Memorial meet, Environmental safety was made among top priorities.

In uplifting environment quality, the Athletics governor body decided to plant a number of 1000 trees as a component of keeping Environment.

The program shall be carried on this Friday 6th June 2025 with schools around Namboole shall the primary beneficiaries.

The program was confirmed on Tuesday 3rd by Uganda Athletics deputy secretary David Namayo Mawerer in a press gathering held at the Federation’s headquarters in Kampala.

In his brief, Namayo stated. “This is not just celebrations but also to keep our environment safety, our generation have faced allot of environmental problem, but this is a high time to protect the future of our next generations by teaching the young ones on how to overcome our environmental issues”.

The program shall take place in areas of Bwoyogerere, Kireka and nearby locations.

This will come just a day before 7th June 2025 when first major cerebrations will held at Namboole stadium.
