Katonga bridge to last 120 years years.
Government of Uganda through the Ministry of works has officially commissioned the newly built Katonga bridge with a call on users to drive carefully and mind about each other’s lives.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Works and Transport Hon. Fred Byamukama while commissioning the newly built Katonga bridge that was built on taxpayers’ money at the cost of 191 billion shillings.
Construction of the bridge Follows the collapse of the original Katonga Bridge on Kampala – Masaka Highway in May 2023.
The Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Works and Transport embarked on construction of a new bridge which is currently fully reopened to normal traffic.
