Uganda’s Ronald Rugumayo is at the top of the score board & warming up to carrying this year’s Pearl of Africa golf series top prize & title.
Rugumayo has combined 11 birdies,two eagles & just four bogeys to keep away his rivals including Nigeria’s Godwin Okoko with eight-under-par after rounds of 66 and 68.
Kenyan golfer Greg Snow & South Africa’s Slade Pickering plus Tanzania’s Nuru Mollel, England’s Matt Millar and Uganda’s Willy Kitata Deus put up a good performance by Friday & waiting for top star from the Pearl of Africa golf series.
Rugumayo will be making wonders & magic to the grand final, if he keeps the performance & pressure to the 19th hole.
The battle now shifts to the final day with Rugumayo fighting to retain his scores on the leader board.
“This is my first time in Uganda”, said 19yrs old South African old female player, Ellandri Van Heerden.
This is Uganda’s first Official World Ranking professional golf tournament with faces like Emma Ogwang,Deo Akope, Flavia Namakula,Phillip Kasozi, Marvin Kibirige, Grace Kasango, Rodell Tadeo Gaita, Bulhan Matovu, Thabiso Ngcobo, Chante van Zyl and Daniel Nduva eye-ing the shs70m bounty up for grabs.
Over hundred of golfers from parts of the Wolrd including Uganda, Kenya, South Africa and Eswatini are taking part in the golf championship on addition to exploring Uganda’s tourism potentials in the different parts of the country including the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre in Entebbe.
