PEARL OF AFRICA GOLF SERIES: Tempers High With Shs 70m Up For Grabs & Who’s The King

This weekend we shall be dancing &  downing pints at this year’s  2026 Pearl of Golf series underway  in Entebbe.

It’s more than exciting with hundreds of international golfers swinging balls & sweating plasma at the 4days’ running event at the Entebbe Golf Club.

Ronald Rugumayo is having a paining head  with sleepless nights over the  cash booty amounting to seventy millions shillings(shs 70M) to be shared by top star golfers & wzards.

Hundred of golfers from Uganda, Kenya, South Africa and Eswatini are taking part in the championship on addition to exploring Uganda’s tourism potentials in different parts of the country including the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre in Entebbe.

Uganda has over 10 top golfers including  Emma Ogwang,Deo Akope, Deus Kitata plus others we are yet to identify.

This is Uganda’s first Official World Ranking professional golf tournament under the Sunshine Development & BET Tour.

Rugumayo returned a fiveunderpar scorecard to lead day one of the 2026 Pearl of Africa Golf Series

Uganda’s professional golfers are led by Ronald Rugumayo, who enters the competition with victories from the recent  Uganda Professional Open and the Pro Tee tournament.

Meanwhile all eyes will be set on Grace Kasango, Phillip Kasozi,Vincent Byamukama plus others we are yet to identify.

A total of 122 Professional and Elite Amateurs are taking part in this Sunshine Development tour tournament, which is also an official world ranking golf tournament and has attracted professional golfers.

It’s a beautiful & breezy golf course with lots of trees & it’s my first time  in Uganda, said 19yrs old South African old female player, Ellandri Van Heerden.

Deus Kitata is making birdies on the seventh, eighth and ninth holes while Nigeria Godwin Okoko is climbing ladders.

Eight players are tied up including Phillip Kasozi, Marvin Kibirige, Grace Kasango, Rodell Tadeo Gaita, Bulhan Matovu, Thabiso Ngcobo, Chante van Zyl and Daniel Nduva.

This year’s Pearl of Africa is  powered by several corporate companies including Castle Lite Beer, Shell Uganda,MTN Momo,Pepsi,Home Bliss,Villa Vellar,Case Hospital, Pinnacle Security,Exim Bank,Sumz plus others.
