One of the celebrated senior citizens in this country is Dr Dirk Edward Antvelink, a foreign national from Holland that came into Uganda in 1778 & started a modern maternity facility & nursing home in Entebbe.
And after all these year, Dr Antvelink has worked to promote modern health systems & project.
It’s now 2years since the founding director for Kitooro maternity & nursing home passed on & left the health facility in struggling state.
And after his passing on, the United Nations Federal Credit Union (UNFCU) organization has donated medical supplies including maternity beds & baby accessories to his health facility.
The medical supplies were handed over the center in charge, Gule Twaha by the UNFCU country director, Martha Nyanje.
Dr Antvelink’s wife thanked Dr James Kalule & John Kalyesubula for support & bringing back the glory of Kitooro Nursing Home.
Lucy Zziwa Antvelink is the charge of the medical nursing facility & officially married to the deceased.
Meanwhile on Christmas eve in 1983, Dr Dirk Edward Antvelink officially walked down the memory lane at his wedding day at the St Mark’s church Namate.
The wedding ball was attended by close buddies including Mr. Lutaaya Kamya(RIP),Mr. Ponsiano Kayiso, Mr. Mboijana(RIP),Mr. John Malengane, Dr. Mukasa Ambrose,Mr. Kitaata(RIP),Sister Semakula Rose,Mrs. Miriam Kazinda,Dr. Fredrick Mutyaba,Mr. Ssekandi Fredrick(RIP) & Nalongo Musoke plus others.
