Lynn Nasirumbi, Senior PR Executive at brainchild Burson, has been named PR Rising Star at the 10th Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) Excellence Awards, earning recognition for her professional growth and contribution to Uganda’s public relations industry.
PRAU presented the award on Friday, 23rd October 2026, at the Source of the Nile Hotel in Jinja, marking its 50th anniversary under the theme, “A Legacy in Gold: Honouring the Cream of Public Relations.”
Nasirumbi’s recognition marks another milestone in a career defined by a commitment to professional excellence, continuous learning, and developing future communication professionals.
She previously won the Young Silverback Award at the Silverback Awards organized by the Uganda Advertising Association twice, in 2022 and 2024, making this latest achievement another significant milestone in her public relations journey.
At brainchild Burson, Nasirumbi contributes to strategic communication and public relations work, bringing together creativity, strategic thinking and an understanding of the role communication plays in shaping reputations and building meaningful relationships between organizations and their stakeholders.

Nasirumbi has made a deliberate effort to engage with university students beyond her professional responsibilities, sharing her experiences and encouraging young people pursuing careers in journalism, public relations and communications.
Through these engagements, she has helped students gain a better understanding of the profession, the opportunities it presents and the importance of developing the skills and discipline required to succeed.
She also holds an MA in Journalism and Communications from Makerere University, reflecting her commitment to strengthening her knowledge and expertise in a profession that continues to evolve with changing audience expectations, technology and business needs.
While commenting on the recognition, Lynn Nasirumbi said, “Winning the PR Rising Star Award is a meaningful milestone for me. It is a reminder of how much I have learnt, the people who have supported my journey and the responsibility that comes with growing in this profession. Being recognized as PRAU celebrates 50 years is momentous for me because it shows that the PR fraternity is in the right hands with us, the young professionals.”
Nasirumbi further added that while the award is an individual recognition, a combined effort has gone into shaping the professional she is today.
“I am grateful to brainchild Burson for the opportunities to learn, contribute and grow, and I hope my journey encourages more young people to believe in their potential and pursue excellence in this industry.”
Denise Kayiraba, Business Unit Head at brainchild Burson, said Nasirumbi’s achievement reflects the value of nurturing talent and creating opportunities for young professionals to grow and contribute meaningfully to the industry.
“Lynn’s recognition as the PRAU Rising Star is a proud and deeply rewarding moment for us. She joined us through our apprenticeship programme, and watching her grow, develop her craft, and rise through the ranks to become a Senior PR Executive has been incredibly fulfilling. Her journey is a testament to what happens when talent is nurtured, opportunities are created, and individuals commit to learning and growth. I am immensely proud of how far she has come, and this award is a well-deserved recognition of her potential and the contribution she continues to make to brainchild Burson and our industry at large. I look forward to seeing all that she will go on to achieve.” Kayiraba said.
The PR Rising Star Award recognizes practitioners under the age of 30 who demonstrate exceptional skill and early-career success.
The broader PRAU Excellence Awards are designed to celebrate excellence in public relations, strategic communication and campaign management, with entries assessed through an established judging process and technical quality assurance.
Nasirumbi’s win comes at a significant time for both the profession and the association.
As PRAU celebrates five decades of advancing public relations practice in Uganda, the recognition of emerging professionals highlights the importance of developing the next generation of practitioners who will shape the industry’s future.
For brainchild Burson, Nasirumbi’s achievement is a celebration of individual accomplishment and the importance of supporting professionals to develop their expertise, contribute to the industry and inspire others along the way.
