This weekend, ladies in golf sport shall be celebrating the 8th edition of the Uganda ladies’ golf tournament at the Kitante Golf Club.
It’s not about launching a tournament, it’s about celebrating talent and the pain of the game on fairway under hot sun, said UGC CEO.
The UGC ladies golf tournament started in 2018 and this time round we have a fully packed week with over hundred golfers participating in this year’s 8th edition & over sixty caddies battling it out, revealed Gloria Mbaguta also Ladies Captain.
It’s a packed week of events with over thirty professionals battling it out for a kitty of twenty million shillings & the gross amateurs men plus ladies doing it on the fairway.
The ladies will be playing for fifteen million shillings while the caddies will be playing for two million shillings.
The caddies category will be taking center stage & walking the lush fairways to sinking those clutch putts as we kick off an exciting week of golf.
Several corporate companies have come on board to support this year’s golf edition including Jubilee insurance, Embogo Lodges, Oryx lubricants, Xpresso, Kenya Airways, MTN Uganda, Uganda Civil Aviation Authority,Case Hospital & friends of Ladie captain.

The ladies golf in Uganda is growing and deserves a spot light and a special event of meeting young ladies in golf has been scheduled for midweek,
We are embracing all categories of women during the “Meet & Greet” event scheduled for Wednesday including the women that played Golf for over 30yrs, said Mbaguta.
From the ladie caddies, we get great players & it’s the breeding ground for young players, she added.
