KCB Bank Uganda has unveiled FLME, its Female-Led & Made Enterprises proposition, reinforcing its commitment to unlocking the full potential of women and women-led businesses through a more deliberate, structured and impact-driven approach.
The unveiling, held during a breakfast engagement at Sheraton Hotel Kampala, brought together women entrepreneurs, business leaders and key stakeholders, with the Chairperson of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Council, Allen Kagina, as Guest of Honour.
The event created a platform for meaningful dialogue on advancing women’s participation in economic growth.
FLME is a strategic articulation of KCB Bank Uganda’s ongoing engagement with women in business. Built on years of listening and learning, the proposition responds directly to the realities women entrepreneurs face, from limited access to finance the gaps in structured business support.
Designed as a holistic platform, FLME integrates tailored financial solutions with non-financial support, including enterprise development through the bank’s Foundation, mentorship and access to networks and markets.
Through partnerships with platforms such as Mkazipreneur, African Women in Processing and Nation Media Group’s Empower Her, the proposition extends beyond banking to connect women to opportunity, visibility and growth.
Speaking at the unveiling, Managing Director Edgar Byamah noted, “At KCB Bank Uganda, we recognise that this is a progression gap and it requires a deliberate, system-wide response. FLME is our strategic proposition to close the progression gap by aligning finance, capacity building, and market access into one coordinated platform.”
Guest of Honour Allen Kagina reaffirmed the broader significance of the initiative:“I commend KCB Bank Uganda for taking a deliberate and structured approach through FLME, because initiatives like this are exactly what is needed to unlock the full potential of women in business and accelerate inclusive economic growth.”
The event also featured a panel discussion where women shared real experiences of navigating challenges, building resilience and scaling their businesses, reinforcing the need for solutions grounded in lived realities.
Lillian Namuli Akiki, a thriving agribusiness entrepreneur based in Malaba, Tororo District, shared her experience:
“As a woman in agribusiness, the biggest challenge is not starting, it is growing with the right support around you. What stands out about FLME is that it goes beyond financing. It connects you to knowledge, to networks and to opportunities that make growth possible. That kind of support changes how you build, how you scale and ultimately, how far you can go.”
As Uganda’s entrepreneurial landscape continues to evolve, FLME positions KCB Bank Uganda as a partner that goes beyond financing to enable sustainable growth, advancing financial inclusion and empowering women to move from potential to progress.
Through this proposition, the Bank is strengthening the systems that support women to grow, scale and lead, fanning their flame through solutions that unlock real opportunity and lasting impact.
And in doing so, KCB Bank Uganda remains committed to being a partner that is truly, For People. For Better.
