David Mutaaga and his wife, Florence Mutaaga were murdered at their residence in Entebbe municipality

And now it’s 5months down the road with lots tears rolling down the trench yards from friends to family members to children.

The couple who had lived in Zurich for over 30yrs were brutally murdered on Sunday July 6th 2025 at their residence in Lugonjo Nakiwogo subward, Entebbe municipality in Wakiso district.

The couple had just hosted a few friends and relatives the previous evening after decades abroad and the next morning, the celebration had turned into a horror,said report.

Reports say the couple was stabbed multiple times, and their bodies were discovered the following morning with lots if bruises and wounds after scuffling with the killers.

Two suspects were arrested and put behind bars after reports indicated that they were part of the group the visited the couple the previous evening.

There was no sign of forced entry or robbery, fueling speculation that the attack was carried out by someone familiar to them—or even someone who had attended the party, said report.

According to reports, the lifeless bodies of David Mutaaga and his wife Florence Mutaaga, will finally be flown back to Zurich Switzerland where the orphans have opted to bury their beloved parents.

The children reached this decision after Police investigations failed to have leads and motives of the killers on addition to intelligence agencies involved.

David Mutaaga was son to the late Ernest Kibirige, who served as the Headmaster of Buddo Junior School during the 1960s and 1970s.

And his wife, Deborah Nabeeta Mutaaga, was a niece of the late Ambassador David Nabeeta,the father of the late Ambassador Steven Nabeeta and brother to the late Minister Henry Kyemba.

Ambassador David Nabeeta held distinguished diplomatic roles, having represented Uganda at UNESCO in Paris, France, and at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

David Mutaaga, an alumnus of King’s College Budo, was recognized as one of the brightest mathematics students at Makerere University in the 1970s.

During his time at Makerere, David became acquainted with Dr. Ham Mukasa Mulira, who later served as Uganda’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology.

David graduated with a first-class degree in Mathematics and Statistics, earning a postgraduate scholarship to study in Switzerland.

He went on to build an impressive career in Europe, holding senior positions at Oracle Software, the United Bank of Switzerland (UBS) plus the Swisscom in Zurich.

David met Deborah in Geneva and later gotten married to having kids#RIP
