David Mutaaga & Deborah Mutaaga were murdered by unknown killers that attacked them & stabbed them at their home residence in Entebbe municipality.
The couple, who had recently returned from Europe to enjoy their retirement, were found brutally murdered, sparking a high-profile investigation and widespread public concern.
The tragic murder of David Mutaaga, 69, and his wife, Deborah Florence Mutaaga, 62, in their Entebbe home has shaken the nation and exposed serious gaps in Uganda’s ability to investigate violent crimes.

Yoweri Museveni has come out bitterly and commented about the recent brutal murder of David & Deborah that ultimately cost their lives.
Speaking on the nasty incidence that has broken down the country with a griming story attributed to “poor communication” and how the victims responded to the immediate threat.
“He noted that the assailants managed to enter the Mutaaga home, struggled with the husband, David to the downstairs from the living room before murdering him”, Says report.
The attackers moved upstairs & found the wife making phone calls before murdering her.
“Unfortunately, she was calling relatives instead of the authorities”, Mr. Museveni said.
This misdirection of communication, in President Museveni’s view, proved fatal as she lost precious time in attracting authorities to the scene.

“Now, if you are under attack, you shouldn’t be calling your relatives. You should be calling the police. Tell them you are under attack, so that you do not lose time,” he reiterated.
“This tragedy highlights a deeper problem in Uganda’s forensic infrastructure, a foundational concept in forensic science” says media report.
The Mutaagas, who had lived in Zurich for over 30 years, were brutally murdered on Sunday at their home in Lugonjo, Nakiwogo Cell, Entebbe municipality, Wakiso district.
Detectives have since reviewed footage from the home’s Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system.
The footage shows a man dressed in black with a masked face jumping over the perimeter wall around the electric pole.
According to police, the killer had conducted prior surveillance and knew how to avoid the cameras.
In the footage, the killer is reportedly heard telling the couple that he had come to kill them.
He first attacked David, stabbing him in the chest near the heart, then dragged him outside and ordered him to open the remote-controlled gate.
At the time of the attack, David was drinking a glass of wine while Deborah was on her mobile phone, says report.
“Deborah called Angela Nakalema & David Golooba to return because they had been attacked by killers.
She also called one of the neighbors and another friend.
The police believes that some family members might have plotted to ‘finish off’ the deceased couple over accumulated wealth including lots of properties, the building housing Super fm radio & Jemba’s bar building in Entebbe.
Mutaaga was a highly paid tech expert who worked with top European institutions including the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Swissline, Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS), Credit Suisse First Boston, and Swisscom.
At one point, he earned over Shs 220 million ($60,000) per month and rose to the position of Vice President at Credit Suisse.
By the time he relocated back home, he had saved over Shs 20 billion in earnings and retirement benefits.
His wealth reportedly caused tension within the family, especially after he blocked attempts to sell off ancestral land triggering jealousy among relatives.
The couple was laid to rest recently at their ancestral home in Nagalabi Budo,Wakiso District, but their two children did not attend the burial over fear for their lives.
