The University of Kisubi (UniK) is set to celebrate a historic milestone with its 10th Graduation Ceremony scheduled for Friday, October 24, 2025, under the inspiring theme “Pilgrims of Hope.”
The ceremony will begin with a Eucharistic Celebration at 9:00 a.m. led by His Grace, Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere, while the Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, will grace the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
This year’s celebration coincides with the Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year 2025, also themed “Pilgrims of Hope.”
The Jubilee Year, observed every 25 years, is a sacred time of renewal, thanksgiving, and recommitment to faith and service.
For a Catholic-founded institution like the University of Kisubi, the theme carries deep spiritual significance reminding the community of its shared journey of faith, perseverance, and transformation.
The theme also mirrors the academic journey of the graduands, who have persevered through challenges to reach this moment. “Our graduands are true pilgrims of hope — they have walked a journey of faith, learning, and endurance.
This Jubilee year UniK celebrates a record number of graduands who will receive Masters, Bachelors, Diplomas, and Certificates.
The growing numbers reflect the institution’s academic expansion and its continued contribution to national development through education grounded in ethics, faith, and service.
Adding to the excitement, the University Innovation Hub will showcase several of its life-changing innovations developed by students and researchers.
Among the highlights are the solar-powered bikes, the Eco Bike, and other environmentally friendly technologies aimed at promoting sustainable mobility and green living.
These innovations demonstrate UniK’s growing role as a hub of creativity and practical solutions for community and environmental challenges.
The joy and anticipation among graduands are already visible. Nabasujja Cate Yobu, one of the graduands, shared her excitement:
“Thank you, God. October 24, 2025, is going to be one of the most exciting days of my life. It means a lot to my mum and family and for me, it’s another step in my academic career,” she said with a bright smile.
As the University of Kisubi marks its 10th graduation, it reaffirms its mission of fostering integral human development through faith-inspired education, innovation, and service. The ceremony will not only celebrate academic achievement but also underscore UniK’s enduring commitment to nurturing hope, innovation, and social transformation in Uganda and beyond.
