President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has put his eyes on NRM party candidates to score highly in the coming general elections,scheduled for next week,15th Jan 2026.

The president made his final whistle to NRM party candidates during his last political rally in Entebbe.

The president blessed all aspiring party candidates in the coming general elections including aspiring parliamentarian Stephen Shyka Gashaija and incumbent Mayor Fabrice Brad Rulinda.

Museveni made his finally political rally at the Works playground and addressed thousands of party supporters dressed in yellow t-shirt under the hot sun on Monday afternoon.

Thousands of party supporters walked from different areas of Wakiso,Entebbe and Kampala to hear the presidential message ahead of the boiling presidential elections underway.

Museveni advised party supporters to vote party candidates for effective service delivery with a long arm to his desk.

Mr Museveni preached about Emyoogas and other government support programs including the Parish Development Model (PDM) on how they have improved several people’s lives.

The president was forwarded lots of complaints about the mis-management of government support and funding by party members, says report.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, also the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Presidential flagbearer for the 2026 general elections, has tasked the people of Wakiso district to keenly monitor the utilisation of the government development funds to ensure that they serve the intended purpose.

The President revealed that the government has increased the PDM funding to Shs300 million and has also set up a special fund for leaders, markets, mechanics and fisheries, with an aim of improving their livelihoods through wealth creation.

The President further assured residents of Entebbe and Wakiso district at large of plans to promptly complete construction works for Kisubi – Nakawuka – Mpigi road, Nakawuka – Nateete road and several other ongoing road construction projects across the district to improve mobility and business operations.

Maama Janet Kataha Museveni attributed the immense developmental achievements for Entebbe and Wakiso district to the NRM’s strategic approach founded on peace and stability.

The NRM second National Vice Chairperson and Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Among highlighted the several additional development initiatives in Wakiso district fostered by the NRM government that include the 35 billion shillings Lubugumu – Busabala road project, the 15.5 billion shillings Kitoolo – Kawuku road project, the 23 billion shillings Entebe – Nakiwogo road and the planned bridge at the same location.

The NRM government has ably laid a stable foundation in different sectors employing millions of Ugandans, thus challenging residents of Wakiso to take advantage of the job opportunities in the planned development aspects such as industries, commercial agriculture, services including tourism, skill and artisanship, added M7.

Meanwhile incumbent mayor, Fabrice Brad Rulinda has served his 5yrs tenure in government office and seeking another term after disproving critics wrong while aspiring parliamentarian Steven Shyka Gashaija is plotting to kick out the incumbent parliamentarian, Micheal Kakembo Mbwatekamwa also begging another term in parliament after falling out with the NUP party.(By PEACOCK KAWEESA & Agencies)
