Arafat is a recipient of the award for Best Civilian fighting crime in Entebbe, presented by the Inspector General of Police, in recognition of his outstanding efforts in promoting community safety and security.

- Strengthening community development initiatives, including promoting household income and protecting the environment against pollution.
- Enhancing infrastructure, including building at least 10 public toilets in the Division and ensuring maintained and passable roads.
- Advocating for the construction of NAKIWOGO Bridge and promoting tourism more so on the dormant historical sites in the Division.
- Improving education by retooling schools without desks and basic education needs, and advocating for proper payments of arts teachers.
- Promoting talent and creativity, as a music and dance trainer, athletic enthusiast, and microphone maestro, Arafat aims to nurture and showcase local talent.
- Lobbying for a proper dumping site where refuse can be used for income generation purposes.
- Fighting Crime in our community and taking part in building Skilling centers.
- Ensuring proper naming of our roads to ease navigation and accessibility.
- Having more children play parks in Bugonga, KATABI BUSAMBAGA, Banga NAKIWOGO, between Manyago 1 and Manyago 2.
- Ensuring free WiFi areas in our Division to promote research and innovation.
- Acquiring a van to support the sick and the deceased, making it easier for families to transport their loved ones back home.
- Empowering SACCOs in churches, mosques, bodabodas, cultural groups, and within the community to promote economic growth and financial inclusion.
