President Museveni takes powerful campaign message to Nebbi district

Following successful campaigns in Oyam and Pakwach on Tuesday, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa continued the aggressive campaign trail in the West Nile region.

On Saturday, 11th October 2025, the president held a well-attended rally in Nebbi district at Namrwodho primary school playground, before thousands of enthusiastic supporters and NRM party die-hards.

Accompanied by the First Lady who is also the Minister of Education and Sports Hon. Janet Museveni, the president lauded the people of West Nile region.

“NRM has been active on the political scene in Uganda for the last 65 years. There is peace in Uganda because of our ideology of patriotism and Pan Africanism that united the country, created institutions like the army and police that helped to build the country” President Museveni highlighted.

He also spoke of the different socio-economic gains to the entire West Nile region particularly the road system network, telephones, health and education services, with a bold promise to further improve the remaining roads and health facilities.

“We shall insist on free education for all pupils in schools because we started this program of free education in 1986 but some people have refused to implement it. Therefore, I decided to use tactics like skilling hubs” the president spoke about the education.

The first lady Janet Museveni urged the people of Nebbi and West Nile region to vote for the NRM and president Museveni for the coming epoch 2026-2031.

“We should not play about with the peace and freedom that the NRM has created. We have one homeland on this planet earth. All the development, transformation is built on this peace. Please remember that you have a responsibility to fight for this peace in this season of elections” First Lady Janet Museveni remarked.

The rally was attended by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, NRM Northern Uganda Vice Chairman and Government Chief Whip Hamson Dennis Obua, Secretary General NRM Richard Tadwong, ministers Hon Evelyn Anite, Hon. Phiona Nyamutooro, Hon. Balam Barugagara Ateenyi, MPs, clergymen, elders and the gallant people of Nebbi District, among others.

Also marking a memorable 76th birthday, the rally was blessed by the Retired ArchBishop Luke Orombi, a senior citizen in Nebbi who executed a powerful prayer.

Chairperson of the NRM Nebbi District George Keremundu Adubango appreciated the Government in a special way for the gains attained thus far, with a promise to vote NRM and President Museveni in the upcoming elections.

“We thank you for the security and peace that the people in Nebbi have enjoyed for the last 39 years. This has translated into socio-economic gains. Nebbi now has 26 health facilities that have improved the quality and services brought closer to the people, presidential training Hubs, Nine Government Aided schools and three seed schools are being constructed. Nebbi District has so far received support for Parish Development Model (PDM) at Ug.Shs 18.6 billion with Ug.Shs 1.3 billion Received under Emyooga program”, Adubango, a successful model farmer hailed.

After Nebbi, the president is set to address yet another mammoth rally in Zombo District at the Zombo Upper primary school grounds.

Sunday, 12th October 2025 is a breather on the trail ahead of a grueling coming week in the West Nile region.

On Monday, 13th October 2025, the president will address two rallies in Obongi and Madi Okollo before two other rallies on the subsequent day in Yumbe and Koboko.

The campaigns will climax in early January 2026 ahead of the presidential and general elections.
