Following a three day’s break off the presidential campaign trail, President Yoweri Museveni Kaguta Tibuhaburwa resumed with vigour on Tuesday, 7th October 2025.
The National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer held two rallies; the first in Oyam, Northern Uganda and another in Pakwach, the West Nile region.
President Museveni first held a rally in Oyam, Northern Uganda in the morning before proceeding to the West Nile region where he addressed a rally at Omach primary school.


Both rallies drew capacity ecstatic crowds, well attended by community leaders and the wanainichi who garnered at the respective grounds as early as 7 am.
In either location, local artists thrilled and engaged the crowds to the maximum before the president addressed the residents, highlighting key points in his manifesto for the tenure 2026-2031.
Outspoken artists in the country as Catherine Kusasira, Lil Pazo, Gravity Omutujju, Jose Chamelone, Eddie Kenzo entertained the masses.
Pakwach District NRM Chairperson Ronald Onencan Ojinda hinted about the Fishing community complaints, Murchison national park land wrangles, promotion of Pakwach District health center III to Hospital status and the road system that needs improvement.
Onencan then handed over a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the leaders of Pakwach to the president.
In his address, President Museveni highlighted about the peace created by NRM Government that has precipitated development across the country.
“NRM has been involved in the politics of Uganda in one way or another for the last 65 years. The peace brought by NRM has helped Uganda to house many refugees and you the people of West Nile region are first time witnesses. We have also had significant strides in the economic and social infrastructural development with more electricity lines, Telephones, schools and health centers” President Museveni spoke.
The president takes another three day break as the country celebrates the 63rd edition of the Independence Day at Kololo Ceremonial Independence Grounds, Kampala on 9th October 2025.
He will then aggressively resume upon the trail on Saturday, 11th October 2025 with two rallies in Nebbi and Zombo before resting on the following day.
President Museveni shall then embark on another busy week commencing Monday, 13th October 2025 with two rallies in Obongi and Madi-Okello, another set in Yumbe and Koboko (on 14th October), Terego and Maracha (16th October) and will wind down the week with a hat trick of rallies in Moyo, Arua and Arua city.
Meanwhile, the rest of the presidential candidates Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, Robert Kasibante, Gregory Muntu Mugisha Oyera, James Nathan Nandala Mafabi, Mubarak Munyagwa Sserunga, Frank Bulira and Joseph Mabirizi also maintain the respective campaign trails across the country.
The campaigns will officially come to an end on 12th January 2026 ahead of the nation-wide polls.
