The Alumni association of Nkumba Primary School, as always has stood with the pupils of Nkumba primary school.

Like the norm has been, the Alumni association dedicates special time with the candidates of a particular year for special motivation, counseling tip and a luncheon together.

On Saturday, 26th October 2025 at the school’s main hall, some of the Alumni representatives had a special time with this year’s candidates, 139 of them.

The Alumni day’s Guest speakers (lawyers) were led by Justice Simon Peter Kinobe (1992), John Barenzi (1988) and Rebecca Athieno (1987), who is also the alumni representative on the school management committee.

Justice Kinobe pledged Ug.Shs 2,000,000, Barenzi vowed to help in the construction of a-water well whilst Jenner Lubogo (1996) pledged Ug.Shs 622,500 and a jersey for both boys and girls to Ssempa House.

Eng. Nayoga Ezra (1991) awarded Ug.Shs 1,000,000 to Jefferson Musiime who was the best candidate at the 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) with 7 aggregates.

“I want to thank Eng Nayoga for my prize. I thank all my teachers for the dedicated work and my parents for the support” Musiime appreciated.

The Alumni chairperson Linda Akech Bugembe had her speech read by the vice chairperson Major (Rtd) Patrick Ssemujju.

Bugembe lauded the entire working team that combines effort in her absentia with Nsangi Flavia Miiro, Naka Siwoza, John Magezi Ssali and others.

She also appreciated the schoolteachers, non-teaching staff and the parents for enabling the pupils to make it, against all the odds.

The Alumni chairperson dedicated the pupils to God the Almighty to help them pass well and to get a brighter future.

Miss Oliver Kazinda, the current head teacher of Nkumba Primary School thanked the Alumni for the overwhelming support towards the school, fellow teachers and the parents.

Grace Njuba Nalikka (class of 1979), was the oldest Almuni present. Njuba is a now a retired teacher and also a school proprietor at Kabale village (Katabi Town Council).

A sumptuous meal prepared by the Alumni was served to the pupils, teachers and other guests.

Sharon Nantumbwe led the prayer session before the meals; also calling upon the God for blessings in the forthcoming Examinations.

She also thanked the Almuni’s special effort and love for their school.

Meanwhile, Paul Mukasa (class of 1992) rewarded Ug.Shs 50,000 to all the pupils who scored distinction 1 in mathematics.

The president Akech sent in her cash pledge of Ug.Shs 500,000 to the social studies department as the best-done subject in last year’s PLE.
