Sunday, July 6th, 2025, was marked as historical as the Uganda Kabaddi Open League got off to a strong start with three games at Ridgeway School in Matugga.
Nile Kabaddi Club, Jakana Super Bullets, and Superior Kabaddi Club all recorded commanding wins.
Nile Kabaddi Club defeated Star Pirates by 51-40 points, with star player and captain Stanley Gombe contributing 15 points and numerous raids.
Timothy Lubwama scored 15 tackle points, becoming the best defender of day one.
Jakana Super Bullets dominantly smashed Kampala Kabaddi Club by 53-41 points, with an outstanding performance from Luqman Kayima, who scored 18 raiding points, surpassing all other players from Jakana.
In the third game of the day, Superior Kabaddi Club defeated War Jaguar Kabaddi Club 56-40.
The league will commence again on Sunday, July 13th, with three more games at Ridgeway School in Matugga.
