In the jurisdiction of all engaging work tasks at hand, Munnange Counseling Center (MCC) successfully held some of the activities leading to the fourth annual mental awareness day celebrations in Nkumba, Katabi Town Council, Wakiso District on Friday, 3rd October 2025.
The day’s rich menu entailed an interactive counseling session for students at St Dennis Vocational Training Center, coupled with Netball, Volleyball and Football exciting duels.
These were epitomized by a colorful awards presentation ceremony to appreciate individual and team effort with medals and a glittering trophy.

Virtually, everyone was a winner with deliberate effort exerted to make the day a memorable one.
Counseling experts from Munnange Counseling Centre and Rescue The Poor shared tips with the attentive students at St Dennis Vocational Training Center about life skills, experiences, conduct and general morals.
Clad in eye-catching new branded white-cum-green jersey, the Munnange Counseling Centre sports team exhibited typical elements of teamwork, resilience, determination, enthusiasm and passion during the games played with camaraderie and fair-play show-cased at free-will.
“We had a successful 4th Annual Mental Health Awareness Day 2025 with counseling sessions, sports (netball, volleyball, football and other fun games) before the prize presentation ceremony took place. More activities are in the pipeline with an elaborative discussion on X-platform, tree planting exercise and the mental health day celebrations on 17th October 2025 at Nkumba University” Jamilah Nantale, the team leader at Munnange Counseling Centre remarked.
It was a day of free interaction, networking, refreshing the body, smiles and yes – counseling tips.
After the counseling session at the main hall of St Dennis Vocational Training Centre, the students were then engaged in sports to include fun games, netball, volleyball and football.
In Netball, St Dennis Vocational Training Center team won 7-4. They also won in Volleyball (2-0) and Football (2-1).
The counseling session and sports menu is part of the catalogue of busy October, a specially designated month to celebrate Mental Health across the world.

On Munnange Counseling Centre will celebrate the fourth edition of the 4th Annual Mental Health Awareness Day for Friday, 17th October 2025 at Nkumba University.
The celebrations will be enshrined on the theme “Empowering Minds: Strengthening Adolescent and Youth Health”.

Students from various institutions, educators, health professionals and community members will converge to openly discuss the agenda and forge workable solutions in a bid to prioritize youth mental well-being.
Other activities lined up will entail a social media discussion on X (formerly Twitter) confirmed for 10th October 2025.

This will be followed by a tree planting drive at Divine Child Primary school on the 15th October 2025 before the D-Day on 17th October 2025 at Nkumba University.
Nationally, the National Mental Health celebrations will be held on 31st October 2025.
