The KCB Bank Uganda has injected over one million shillings (shs100M) in the upcoming East Africa Golf Tournament, slated for the 28th June 2025 at the Lake Victoria Serena Resort & Spa, Kigo.
“Over the years, KCB Bank Uganda has supported several national golf events and tournaments including the Jinja Ladies Open, West Nile Quarterly Mug, Uganda Golf Club Ladies Open, Arua Open, Mbarara Monthly Mug, and Lira Ladies Open plus others” said Agnes N. Mayanja also Executive Director, KCB Bank Uganda during the press briefing.
Golf is played in serene environment and it’s just playing Golf but we here for purpose to address one of the global challenges where KCB bank has come to plant over 1500 indigenous trees across the country with 300trees at the Lake Victoria Serena Resort & Spa, added Executive Director.
“Our support for golf is more than expanding access, nurturing discipline and uniting communities around shared ambition and gold is something we believe in a brand”, said Daniel Kaheru also Marketing at ICEA insurance company.
“We’re proud to stand behind this year’s tournament and it’s in our interests to grow the sport that connects people” noted Felix Mwangangi also Kenya Airway country manager Uganda.
“This upcoming event is really exciting with more than 100players expected in the fun format and the winning team will earn an all-expenses-paid trip to represent Uganda at the Grand Finale of the East Africa Golf Tour in Nairobi, slated for December”, said Theodor Van Rooyen also Golf Director, East Africa Golf Tour Uganda Leg.
“We view golf as a catalyst for growth and our continued investment in golf reflects our belief in nurturing excellence, building regional partnerships, and driving lasting value in the communities we serve”, said Sheila Awori also Head of Marketing at KCB bank Uganda.
The launch brought together corporate partners, regional stakeholders and members of the media at the Lake Victoria Serena Resort & Spa.
