Mbalangu promises to drive NEC Football Club to greater heights

After raising NEC Football Club to a second-place finish in the national league so far highest rank of the club that was initiated in 2017, head coach Hussein Mbalangu aspires for me.

The performance guided the club to first ever CAF engagements benefiting on Vipers SC double win despite failing to replicate their performance in 2023-2024 Uganda Cup.

While speaking on the end of the season dinner held at Silver Springs Hotel in Bugoloobi on Monday 2nd June 2025, Mbalangu promised to continue driving the side to right direction.

“Alhamdulillah for the performance we have reached this season but as NEC FC we are a proper growing force, this is because Allah has enabled us to set up proper systems, we are moving forward to become a full professional club, and always our target shall remain better than that of previous season Insha Allah” – Hussein Mbalangu, head coach NEC Football Club

Under Mbalangu, NEC FC has become the most proper side with a designed playing style and as well club remain one unity.

Coming Next season the 2025-2026, NEC FC shall represent Uganda at CAF Confederations cup and Mbalangu said. “We are ready for continental football, our players understands what to do, our technical staff and management knows with those good entities, I am experiencing on continental, I went there as a player and returned to there as a coach with Banadir FC”

National Enterprise Cooperation Managing Lt.Gen James Mugira assured the full backing of the project.” We are very proud of our team, we performed so well to finish just two points behind league winners. Being a team with less than ten years of existence and perform on this stage, we are going to continue putting in much efforts towards our playing and technical staff”.
