Ugandan Justice Minister and Democratic Party fire fox, Sir Norbert Mao is a leopard with black skin after pulling out his swords to chop ‘hyenas’ giving him headache in the party.
We have highly established that Nobert Mao has ganged up with Fred Mukasa Mbidde, Kiwanuka Mayambala, and Gerald Siranda to fight all hyenas on his neck including Bukoto Central MP Richard Sebamala, now targeting his seat.
In the new deal, Mbidde will be Mao’s campaign manager for the party presidency to suffocate Sebamala’s growing influence and this raised dust within the party.
The Democratic Party has been silent for the last couple of years ever since President M7 offered Sir Norbert Mao a juicy seat in the ruling government and all files carried to the big man.
DP’s internal fractures trace back to the 2020 election disputes, where Mao and Siranda were accused of sabotaging the part, thus birthing the rival DP Bloc.

The 2022 cooperation agreement with the NRM, secured Mao’s appointment as Minister of Justice and Siranda’s election to the East African Legislative Assembly
The information drawn from DP leaders has raised dust about DP’s autonomy and this coalition however risks further eroding of the party’s cohesion.
Sebamala’s campaign has galvanized members disillusioned by DP’s dwindling influence, with the party’s parliamentary seats dropping from 15 in 2016 to six in 2025.
Sebamala’s faction could deepen divisions, pushing the party closer to collapse as members choose between loyalty of the current leadership or a return to DP’s founding principles.
The National Delegates Conference (NDC) is underway despite the grievances and fallouts by some democrats.
