Joyce Namuli Nabatta is the newly appointed flag bearer for National Unity Platform (NUP) of Entebbe Municipality Member of Parliament (MP) seat in the forthcoming 2026 presidential and general elections.
Born and bred in Entebbe Municipality, Nabatta will contest for the MP seat to represent her constituency in the national parliament.
Upon deservedly earning the NUP card, Nabatta expressed gratitude to the party leaders, elders, youth, women and clergymen.

“With great spirits, I want to extend my heartfelt and warm gratitude to my party leadership for considering me as the most suitable candidate to hold the flag for Entebbe Municipality.” She opened up.

Nabatta won the NUP ticket over several other contestants who included Stuart Lubwama, Robert Masaazi and Lillian Babirye.
The incumbent Michael Kakembo (Mbwatekamwa) did not express interest for the ticket once again.

“This is a journey that I humbly began with the will and grace of my people of Entebbe with whom we have been in the trenches but they remained confident in my potential. The journey of leadership is never easy given the heterogeneity of the people we have to deal with. Leadership is about listening and appreciating what people want.” Nabatta noted.

Great leadership entails serving the will of the people and this is what exactly I stand for. In the same vein, this is not my personal effort but the effort of my team with whom we have been sharing and working towards building this dream. I have no sufficient words to appreciate in the manner I should, but I want to say THANK YOU. The elders of Entebbe, the youth, women groups and clergymen who have been supportive of our goals, thank you. Lastly, the entire vote of gratitude goes to the Almighty God whose will and grace is the reason we are here today. I pledge to remain the humble, listening, and loyal servant that my people have known overtime.” She added.

Several people have already expressed interest in the seat for MP of Entebbe Municipality ranging from the incumbent Kakembo, Shaka Gashaija (NRM) and others who would wish to come up.
