Hundreds of thousands of people graced the first public rally of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa on Tuesday, 30th September 2025 in Greater Luweero.
The president arrived amidst a heavy rainstorm by 3:41 PM, welcomed by an ecstatic gathering at the Bukalasa Agricultural College playgrounds in Wobulenzi Town Council.
Top officials from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) led by the Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon Anita Annet Among, Central Executive Committee (CEC) executive members, different leaders and other party diehards officially welcomed the head of state.
The rally is the first of the many for President Museveni in the coming three months; will culminate into the presidential and general elections come January 2026.

“I thank you the people of Luweero on behalf of your parents and grandparents who fought with us in the early 80’s” President Museveni appreciated the residents.
“Back then, the economy had collapsed. The security was very bad, the army behavior was really bad and we had to defeat the terrorist Government to put things right” he added.

The president then hinted on the development mechanism for economy recovery.
“We had to repair the economy. There is now peace in all parts of the country. We have now moved very far. Many Ugandans have woken up and started commercial agriculture. In agriculture, we have moved very far. The amount of coffee, milk, cassava and other products is a lot” President Museveni who illustrated with videos of successful farmers across the country remarked.
He also commented about young people employed in industrial hubs, services like tourism, hotels and others.

The president strongly castigated the rampant corruption in most public offices, high crime rate, theft of drugs from public hospitals and the head teachers who collect school fees from students in Government primary schools.
He promised to increase the EMYOOGA funds to Ug.Shs 300,000,000 from Ug.Shs 100,000,000 per Parish and supply coffee seedlings free of charge to all Parishes.
Before the president arrived; a number of artists entertained and kept the crowd engaged with Bebe Cool, Eddie Kenzo, Stecia Mayanja, Gravity Omutujju, Ronald Mayinja, Ssebaale and others all performing.
