Bulira Frank Kabinga from the Revolutionary Peoples’ party was the last candidate to be officially nominated ahead of the grueling campaign period for the presidency of the Republic of Uganda.

Kabinga was the eighth candidate to be duly nominated by the Electoral Commission – Uganda.

He was nominated during the last day of the nomination exercise that took two days at the new EC Grounds in Lweza – Lubowa, along Entebbe Road.

“My nomination after a heavy downpour is a clear sign I may be the last to be nominated, but I will be the first in this race. In the next few months Uganda will have a new president, and that person is none other than me,” Kabinga ozzed with confidence.

“Federalism is the solution to everything in Uganda, be it infrastructure, education, health, governance, or security,” he spoke about the Federal system of Governance.

Late Dr. Aggrey Kiyingi legacy:

Kabinga notified the media that the Revolutionary People’s Party is a continued project from the founder Dr. Aggrey Kiyingi, who passed away last year in Canada.

He therefore confirmed that the party will construct the Dr. Aggrey Kiyingi Memorial Building on a 10-acre piece of land in the Bunyoro sub-region in his memory.

The facility will include a nursing home, a youth rehabilitation center, and a heart training institute.

Kabinga will face 7 other candidates in the race. The others include Mubarak Munyagwa Sserunga who affiliates to the Common Man’s Party, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (National Unity Platform), Gregory Mugisha Muntu Oyera (Alliance for National Transformation), Nathan James Nandala Mafabi (Forum For Democratic Change), incumbent Yoweri Museveni Kaguta Tibuhaburwa (National Resistance Movement), Elton Joseph Mabirizi (Conservative Party) and Robert Kasibante (National Peasants Party).

Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission congratulated the successful candidates as he thanked the sister Government agencies and the media for a smooth process.

“We held very successful nominations. I congratulate the candidates successfully nominated. I thank the Uganda Police and all other sister agencies for the job well done. We shall soon alert the candidates or their agents for harmonization before the campaigns kick off on 29th September 2025” Justice Byabakama remarked.
