DEADLY PLAY:Thugs Fired Bullets Over Breaking Into Gov’t Drugs Store,Mission Aborted

Three people were injured on Sunday night after breaking into the National drugs store in Entebbe.

The trio including Muhereza Bamu and Mugerwa Ronald were injured in gun shooting at the national drugs store located after the Namate primary school.

The trio were fired bullets & several others on the run where fired bullets while stealing medical supplies from government stores including 78 gloves boxes and 19 oxygen regulators.

These thugs invaded the government drugs store and started loading boxes of medical supplies inside their Toyota mini van with fake number plates before getting  fired in the scuffle

These thugs were intercepted while loading medical boxes inside their Toyota mini van with two different registration numbers plates (UBB 677Q &UBD 677Q).

The National Medical Stores PRO, Sheila Nduhukire confirmed the attempted robbery at the government drugs store over the weekend and thieves arrested on site.

The State House Health Monitoring Unit director, Dr Warren Namara condemned the act of stealing national drugs and revealed that it’s civil responsibility to give information of drug theft.

He queried how these thugs got access to the government stores to steal drugs with both their mini van and motor cycle no. UFY086A.

We have enough drugs in government stores but some specialized people within the system are stealing these drugs for their own good, noted Dr Namara.

He revealed that this could be an inside job and promised to bring down the culprits to book.

The attempted robbery comes at a time when authorities have heightened vigilance over medical warehouses, following repeated warnings about criminal networks targeting drugs and medical commodities meant for public health facilities.
