The session emphasized how caring for the environment also supports emotional health, especially among young people.

An overwhelming 265 passionate pupils and 15 teachers actively took part in the interactive discussions about the effects of climate change on communities and the importance of developing resilience and hope in the face of environmental challenges.

“Together, we planted trees around the school compound as a symbol of growth, care, and a sustainable future. This initiative not only promoted environmental responsibility but also encouraged mindfulness, teamwork, and a sense of purpose among learners—key ingredients for positive mental health” Jamilah Nantale, a team leader at Munnange Counseling Centre remarked.

A variety of tree species ranging from fruit to shade trees were planted.
