Madina Islamic Secondary School, Greenlight Islamic Secondary School and Bilal Islamic Secondary School scooped the big trophies of this year’s edition of the Islamic Secondary School games.
This was the fifth edition of the Inter-Islamic Secondary Schools Associations events which included Netball, Football and Quran competitions held at Madina Islamic Nsangi Katereke.
Greenlight Islamic Secondary School Nansana ruled the outdoor games when they reached two finals.
Despite failing to defend the netball trophy after falling to the hosts 29-27 after extra time in the final, Greenlight Islamic were football champions.
In the final, the Nansana based school defeated Kampala Islamic 1-0 thanks to Abdulrazaq Irankunda’s free kick that settled the game earlier in first half.
To win the second trophy in just five years, the 2023 champions eliminated one-time champion Top Times in Semifinal by a goal scored by Patrick Ian Tebingwa.
In Quarterfinal, Greenlight Islamic Secondary School Nansana piped out Buziga Islamic while at the stage Kampala Islamic School Bweyogerere stopped defending champions Madina Islamic School.
After Shocking the hosting school, Kampala Islamic School went on to pass Tawheed School by 2- 0 in Semifinal, Umar Kagga and Denis Wabwire scored the goals that book a slot in the final.
In football, Kampala Islamic School’s Allan Kasimo was the top scorer with nine goals in 6 games while Sudice Mulinda was announced the most valuable player after captaining Greenlight Islamic School to the triumph.
In the indoor sector, Bilal Islamic Secondary School bossed by taking the Quran competition beating Madina Islamic School.
The next edition shall be hosted by Buziga Islamic Secondary School in the second term programme of 2026.
The competition had eight trophies and the winners were;
