Bubbling romances, simmering tensions, fierce fights, and fake alliances– week one of #BBNaija Season 10 in Biggie’s house has been one for the books.
And with 29 personalities under one roof, of course there’s already been no shortage of drama!
To quote our inimitable host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu during the live Sunday night eviction show: “What a week we have had on the most spectacular show on the continent.
This is going to be a jam-packed season. The drama is very hot – everything is lit, from the kitchen to the parties.”
Biggie’s 10s (as the housemates are playfully called) seem intent on living up to their nickname– giving us top-notch entertainment in the process.
After all, they are competing for the highest-everBBNaija prize money: a life-changing N150million prize.
Last Monday, Biggie declared all nominations “fake”, but that didn’t mean we were in for a Sunday night show without sauce just because everyone was safe.
The week’s highlights were something to remember, showing us everything from the blow-ups between housemates to the salacious Saturday night *gbedu with DJ Phatt bringing the beats.
This season’s first Head of House (HoH) was Jason Jae, who had to defend his title in a challenge. This is a new twist Biggie introduced for this season – every week, a new HoH will have to face challengers for their newly-won crown
And while Jason Jae was victorious, his tenure as HoH has been tumultuous, seeing as the wager was a flop.
Jason Jae explained the loss to Ebuka as such: “We just missed the key factor,” with Ebuka asking him if the loss was on his shoulders or if everyone was equally to blame (Jason Jae leaned on the latter).
While not all of the housemates agreed that it wasn’t HoH’s fault they lost the wager, Kuture took things a step further by telling Ebuka that the reason he didn’t want to win HoH until at least week 4 was because “it’s easier to control animals than human beings.” This was a comment that didn’t go down well with his fellow housemates.
But Kuture wasn’t the only one who expressed reservations about taking the reins, resulting in Ebuka exclaiming that this was the first time he had seen people who didn’t want to lead.
Bright Morgan described his first week as “crazy”, to which Ebuka asked if it was crazy to watch or crazy to participate in.
Bright Morgan’s response was: “Crazy to watch because I’m not the type to make trouble, but if you bring trouble my way, I will embrace it. So far no one has brought trouble my way.”
The housemates didn’t know that no one was going home, so Ebuka left them ona knife’s edge by claiming he would announce the evictees soon. After leaving them hanging until the very last moments, he called the housemates’ names one by one – to tell them that they were safe.
But from today, the heat is on as voting begins. As Ebuka said to the housemates: “Entertain us and remember that this is not your house. You’re safe this week, but next week will that be the case?”
If the first week was already this lit, can you imagine what awaits us this week? The stakes are high, but the entertainment will be higher!
