Outgoing Democratic Party Vice Chairperson Richard Ssekyondo has stepped down and gone back to the village after falling out with his top bosses at the top party leadership in the country under Sir Norbert Mao also president general of the Democratic Party
Ssekyondo has packed his bags plus books and stop serving the top leadership of the Democratic Party in Entebbe municipality.
We have highly established that Mr. Ssekyondo has finally stepped down and walked away after party members running over his neck to resign and give others chance to enjoy the comfortable seat.
“I have had the privilege of serving in various capacities since 2001, including as a youth leader in Kigungu ward, Vice Chairperson Division B, Vice Chairperson of the Democratic Party Entebbe constituency” noted Mr. Ssekyondo.

“It is with a heavy heart that I submit my resignation as a leader of the Democratic Party with immediate effect in his letter signed this week”, report.
However, due to the current situation in the top party leadership and the party’s alliance with the ruling party, I have found it increasingly challenging to reconcile my values with the party’s actions, said letter
As leaders, we are expected to uphold certain values and norms, and to listen to the voters within our communities, said Ssekyondo.
It must be remembered that as leaders, we are servants of the people, and it is imperative to listen to their voices and stay by their side if we are to remain in servant political positions, he revealed.
“Unfortunately, I can no longer continue in a party that seems to have strayed from these principles, While I am not the first senior party member to leave, I hope that my resignation will be accepted with the understanding that I am taking time to reflect on my next move” said letter.
“I want to assure you that my respect for party members and their contributions to my leadership will always remain and I know that my contributions to the party will also be cherished” he added.

The injustices exhibited in broad daylight are at odds with the party’s morals and values of “Truth and Justice” that have demotivated me to continue working with the party, said Ssekyondo’s letter.
“I have been blessed to have been mentored by remarkable individuals within the party, who have contributed significantly to my leadership skills” said Mr. Ssekyondo.
Meanwhile with highly established that democratic Richard Ssekyondo was groomed by the former Entebbe Mp Muhammad Kawuma to the political limelight and later fell out with his god father.
A fierce war erupted between both the former parliamentarian Muhammad Kawuma and Richard Ssekyondo to flexing muscles.
Richard Ssekyondo plus other party members including former mayor Vicent Kayanja Depaul ganged up and started their mentor Muhammad Kawuma until he gave up on National politics plus local politics.
Muhammad Kawuma has pushed lots of young politicians that have later turned into political ‘chameleons’ including Councilors: Kibirige Tadeo, Arafat Ssekawooya, Maggwa Ssali, David Wasswa, Anthony Ssegujja, Assumpta Nakamya plus others in the lion’s den.
Ssekyondo is one of those political ‘hyenas’ that have climbed ladders from humble background to being the Mayor Kayanja Depaul’s next.
