Former Minister Nuwe Amanya Mushega over the weekend made a surprise storm at the Kampala golf club at the Seniors’ golf tournament.
Nuwe Amanya Mushega is commonly known as a Ugandan lawyer, politician, diplomat, and civil servant.
He has served as the secretary general of the East African Community from 2001 until 2006 and later called it quits from burning politics.
The enjoyment of 2days at the Uganda Golf Club in celebrating the Aviation month attracted hundreds of retiring men and women to celebrate together golf.
The senior’s golf open runs every year and supported by several corporate organizations and companies to give back to the local community under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) model.
This year’s golf open was sponsored by Case hospital, Crown Beverages Pepsi, Uganda Breweries, UCAA,Trackers Safari Lodges, Prudential Insurance and thank you for investing and trusting golfers, said Paul Charles Rukundo also Uganda Golf Club President.
Aviation Week commemorates the historic signing of the Chicago Convention on December 7th , 1944, which led to the establishment of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) framework for modern global air transport, said Ag UCAA Director General Olive Lumonya.

This tournament is not just a sporting event; it is an engagement with key stakeholders who experience our work firsthand, said Ms.Lumonya.

By sponsoring and participating in the tournament, UCAA aims to foster stronger community relations and raise awareness about the critical role of civil aviation in Uganda’s economic and social development, said report.
The 2025 Aviation Week celebrations, under the theme of connecting communities and nations, will use events like the golf tournament to make the industry’s contributions more visible and accessible to the public.
The Uganda Golf Club, a landmark in Ugandan sports, provides an ideal venue for this confluence of sport, industry, and legacy.
This year’s aviation golf tournament awards were scooped by both John Paul Waigo(136 nett) and Edrae Kagombe(129 nett) with other golfers winning different prizes.
Former Uganda Civil Aviation Authority top manager, Ambose Akandonda scored 144 nett in the Gold category and that’s the reason why former minister Mushega was in the building and seated on the same table with the seniors +75yrs.
Nearest to the pin was Lillian Koowe and Joseph Adrapi with the longest drive going to Joyce Kisembo plus Dr Alexander.
