It’s coming to weeks as Lugonjo Nakiwogo village residents are in darkness & contesting against the ‘claimed’ winner in the recent local council elections where five candidates participated against the incumbent Zikuliza Paul that have served for over 30yrs & now under fire.
The former contestants in the recent village elections are puzzled, how one of their colleagues walked away with victory after all the violence & chaos in the elections including tear gas & gun shoots on the voting day.
Twaha Kikomeko one of the contestants in the recent elections claims that he won the elections with a big margin amidst the violence and chaos at the Entebbe Comprehensive Secondary School polling stations.
He claims that on the voting day, soldiers with guns raided the polling station and disorganized all the activities of the day, said Twaha Kikomeko also former area councilor.
It’s not yet clear whether these are the official results after the incumbent Paul Zikuliza walked away chest thumping with (529votes)against Twaha Kikomeko(403 votes) & Kitakule Moses with (04 votes while Magezi David (04 votes) &Rwomushana Faizo with only(02votes) out of the total tally of 942 voters in the heated race.
During the voting counting process, the army and other plain clothed officers raided the school polling station and dispersed all residents and voters from the polling station without the electoral commission officials making their final communication & declaring results.
The former contestants are now petitioning the electoral commission boss, Justice Byabakama to ‘organize’ a fresh election for the Lugonjo Nakiwogo residents to get fair results with no guns around,said Kikomeko
The residents claim that the incumbent chairman, Paul Zikuliza is nolonger a resident of Lugonjo Nakiwogo and abandoned the LC office for several year and married somewhere, said Ahmed Kasawuli also former area councilor.
