Supporters of Arsenal F.C. in Tororo have begun preparations for what they hope will be a historic celebration as the club edges closer to ending its 22-year wait for the Premier League title.

On Tuesday, May 19, Arsenal supporters from across Tororo District held a crucial meeting aimed at unifying fans and organizing a grand title parade should the North London club be crowned champions at the end of the season.

The meeting opened with prayers and self-introductions before members discussed the broader vision of creating a strong and sustainable supporters’ association.

In his remarks, the outgoing chairperson urged members to view the group not only as a football supporters’ club but also as a platform for networking, savings, and mutual support in business and personal development.

Among the key objectives adopted were uniting Arsenal fans in Tororo, promoting a culture of saving, supporting members in various ventures, encouraging responsible celebrations, and opening a financial account for the association.

Members then elected office bearers who will lead the association for one football season, with fresh elections to be held at the end of every campaign.

Popularly known as Uncle B, the newly elected chairperson will head the association, with Jaradieri Tadeo serving as deputy chairperson. Manager Fahad was elected treasurer, assisted by Okadapau Isaac, while Manyadi Al Jamal Jayz will serve as spokesperson and Jafari Ali as assistant spokesperson.

Busulwa Rashid was elected secretary, assisted by Okiru Abraham. Dan (Western Division) and Ofwono Julius (Eastern Division) will serve as mobilizers, while Bukomba Ben takes charge of security.

Eight patrons were also appointed: Muhammad Jazira, Mugisha Bosco, Hiriya Geoffrey, Hasimo Moses, Adam Wiring, Mayor Oben, Owori Henry, and Yussuf Kibalama.

Members unanimously agreed to name the organization Arsenal Fans Development Association Tororo (AFADAT) and resolved to register it as a Community-Based Organization (CBO).

In his acceptance speech, Chairperson Uncle B emphasized the importance of unity, commitment, and shared responsibility in building a strong association that benefits all members.

The supporters also discussed plans for a possible Premier League title celebration, with suggestions including a street parade through Tororo town and a massive feast bringing together Arsenal fans and well-wishers.

Arsenal last won the Premier League title in 2004 under legendary manager Arsène Wenger, completing the season unbeaten in what became known as the “Invincibles.”

With the season nearing its conclusion, Tororo’s Arsenal faithful are already preparing for what they hope will be a long-awaited championship celebration and the start of a united supporters’ movement in the district.
