A seasoned extravaganza of Arsenal fandom is expected to sweep through Kampala as the popular AFTV crew prepares for a high-profile visit to Uganda.

The tour will feature Robbie Lyle, the founder of AFTV, alongside his co-presenter Cecil Jee Thomas and Lee Judges, in what is shaping up to be a vibrant celebration of football culture, fan expression, and digital media engagement.

Robbie will headline a series of activities in Kampala, including two major live watch parties.

The first will feature an English Premier League showdown between Arsenal and Newcastle United on April 25th, while the second will showcase a UEFA Champions League semi-final clash pitting Atletico Madrid against Arsenal in what promises to be a high-stakes European night.

Details of the venue for this event will soon be revealed to the public according to the national chairperson of the organizing committee Barbara Nana Nabirye.

Lyle, whose emotional fan interviews have helped turn AFTV into a global football media brand, is widely credited with pioneering a style that has since been replicated by fan-led sports channels across the world.

His media empire is reportedly valued at around UGX 30 billion.

Beyond the watch parties, the visit will include fan meet-and-greets, a tour of Uganda’s key attractions, and a content creator workshop aimed at strengthening the country’s growing digital sports media ecosystem.

He is also expected to hold a press conference, participate in media interviews, and potentially feature on a podcast during his stay in Uganda, with key activities centered in Kampala.

Excited happy Arsenal FC fans in Uganda

This marks Lyle’s fifth visit to Africa, following similar engagements in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Kenya, where he hosted watch parties and engaged directly with thousands of Arsenal supporters.

The visit comes at a pivotal moment for Arsenal, who remain in contention for both the English Premier League title and their first UEFA Champions League crown, sitting top of the league table with a six-point cushion and preparing for their second consecutive semi-final appearance in Europe.

Kenyan events guru Ken Mathiu of Sunstar is said to be coordinating this visit.
