KCB Bank Uganda has challenged women in the creative sector to transition from basic banking to strategic wealth building to ensure the sustainability of their enterprises.

Serving as a Gold Sponsor for the Flower Land Fest 2026, held at Design Hub, Bugolobi, the Bank provided expert financial tipping to hundreds of young professionals and SME founders.

The festival marked the official close of the 2026 Annual Women’s History Exhibit, themed “A Garden of Her Own“.

As a strategic partner, KCB Bank Uganda utilized the platform to engage the attendees, a group often operating in non-traditional sectors on how to navigate Uganda’s expanding creative economy through structured financial solutions.

Throughout the day, the Design Hub was transformed into a vibrant marketplace of ideas and innovation.

The participants experienced high-energy creative showcases, diverse exhibitions, and networking sessions that allowed Female-Led Micro and Small Enterprises (FLMEs) to display their brands to a wider audience.

A highlight of the event was the high-level panel discussion dubbed “Women & the Creative Economy”, which featured Gladys Nalukenge Lubowa, Relationship Manager Women in Business at KCB Bank Uganda.

During the session, Nalukenge provided critical tips for creatives who traditionally focus on their craft rather than their financial structure.

She emphasized that while the creative economy spanning music, fashion, film, and digital content offers immense opportunity, long-term success requires a shift toward investment planning and SME financing.

Many creatives do not think about financial tools beyond basic transactions, but to build a garden of your own, you must cultivate financial stability. At KCB Bank Uganda, we are encouraging women to move toward investment planning and structured SME solutions.” She said.“We want to bridge the gap between earning an income and building genuine wealth. Whether you are a fashion designer or a digital content creator, KCB Bank Uganda is your partner in building a sustainable enterprise and starting your financial journey today.”

The bank’s engagement booth also served as a hub for interactive financial advisory as various bank representatives met with attendees to discuss tailored SME financing, investment planning and digital integration.

As the “Because of Her” celebrations concluded, the message remained clear: International Women’s Day is a moment of reflection and a call to accelerate support for women in business.

KCB Bank Uganda remains committed to this cause through ongoing capacity-building initiatives and financial products that cater to the specific needs of women, ensuring that the momentum generated at Flower Land Fest continues throughout the year.

The event concluded with a vibrant display of women-led brands and live performances, reinforcing the message that with the right financial backing, Uganda’s creative power is limitless.
