Born in Mbarara, western Uganda, Pamela Tumwebaze attended St. Helens Primary School and later Kyeizooba Girls Secondary School in Bushenyi before joining UCU campus for her undergraduate studies.

Pamela’s journey with UCU began in 2000 as a undergraduate student and  graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education.

Over the years, Pamela held several key positions at the university from  working  as an Administrative Assistant to the Executive Assistant of  the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs.

From  Executive Officer of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Finance and Administration to  being appointed Director of Students Affairs (DOSA), a position she held for three months before her death.

Pamela Tumwebaze, the Dean of Students at Uganda Christian University (UCU), Mukono, was reportedly murdered by unknown assailants a couple of days ago.

Tumwebaze was last seen addressing students on Tuesday during a community worship service  at the  Nkoyoyo Hall, where she was the keynote speaker.

Police in Mukono District have revealed preliminary details surrounding the brutal murder of Pamela Tumwebaze, the Director of Students’ Affairs at Uganda Christian University (UCU), who was strangled at her home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The incident, recorded under Mukono CRB 195/2026, occurred in Ganvu West Cell, Seeta Ward, Goma Division, Mukono District.

According to police reports, information was received at about 5:00am on the 11th  February 2026 indicating that Tumwebaze, a 46years old woman and senior university administrator  had been murdered during the night.

Preliminary investigations suggest that at around 2:00am, an unknown person gained entry into her residence and allegedly strangled her.

She was rushed to Mukono Namirembe Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

At the time of the incident, Tumwebaze was staying with her two children, identified as Elijah and Noah, aged between 10 and 13 years, along with a house helper, Lwantale Sharif.

The deceased returned home at about 10:00pm on Tuesday evening with her children and the house helper opened the main gate and the house for them before locking up.

The assailant could have gained entry when the gate was opened for the deceased, said report.

The suspect instructed the house helper to hand over the keys of  the main gate and doors being running away.

The deceased’s mobile phone, registered under number 0782409072 was  also stolen plus a laptop bag.

The murder of the senior university official has sent shockwaves across the country and demanding for justice.

Tumwebaze  recently took on the role of Director of Students Affairs (DOSA and  served in different capacities over the years.
