Girls in Rugby sport have launched a campaign and fight against gender based violence and how can we safe guard the girl child to promote the sport across the continent including Uganda.
Girls in Rugby have been having lots of issues and challenges about the choking decay in the sport across the country.
The ‘do and don’ts’ on how can we safe guard the Girl child in Rugby has finally gotten lasting solutions to promote the sport across the continent.
This was revealed at the 3days’ training workshop at the Innophine hotel in Entebbe, Uganda with several participates including sports coaches, teachers and community leaders plus the media.
The 3days’ training was to equip sports promoters, rugby managers, coaches, teachers and young people on cutting parameters of reducing gender violence and how can we create safe spaces for the young generation in promoting the tug-game.
The purpose of the meeting was to create ‘trainers of trainers’ in the fight gender based violence in our local communities, said Cissy Musiime also sports activist.
The unacceptable behaviors including bullying, sexual and emotional manners have frustrated the sports development across the continent, said report.
Safe guarding the girl child and boy child is shared responsibility for every one and say no to all forms of abuse, said Patricia Ayebare also big voice of Rugby sport in Uganda.
The 3yrs campaign to empower 10,000 girls and reduce gender based violence practices to promote rugby is sponsored by the Swan sports club with support from Olympic Solidarity an international organization, the Uganda Rugby Union plus others.
The 3days training at the Innophine hotel in Entebbe attracted stakeholders, rugby managers,school teachers and coaches,policy makers and media to roll out last solutions in the fight against gender violence, emotions,sexual feelings plus social media curse and forms of abuse.(By PEACOCK KAWEESA & Agencies)
