The Uganda National Farmers Federation (UNFFE), in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture, has organized the 31st National Agricultural Show, starting the 27th June to 5th July 2025 at the Jinja Showgrounds.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to officially open the show on 1st July 2025.

This announcement was made during a press conference held at the showgrounds on the evening of Tuesday, 17th June 2025.

Speaking during the press conference, Perez Kawumi, the deputy CEO UNFFE, noted that this year’s show will run under the theme: “Technological Innovations Driving Farm Wealth.”

Perez stated that the entry fee for both adults and children has been set at UGX 5,000, a rate considered affordable for all households to encourage maximum participation.

“In the past, holding the agricultural and education shows separately presented logistical challenges”, he added.

By bringing them closer, we aim to attract more exhibitors and create a vibrant environment with more interaction between stakeholders and visitors,” he said.

David Sentogo, Head of Training and Advisory at UNFFE, said this year’s agricultural show is focused on transforming and harnessing agricultural wealth.

He emphasized the importance of adopting modern technologies and innovative practices, especially in light of climate change and limited land availability.

“In developed countries, many farmers are turning to new seed varieties and technologies that can thrive in changing climatic conditions”, he noted.

Our goal is to share such innovations with Ugandan farmers,” Sentogo said.

“Every year, research brings forth new methods, even with a small space of land, a farmer can generate substantial wealth if equipped with the right knowledge”, he revealed.

He further stated that the shows are aimed at empowering farmers to embrace innovations and realize financial growth from their efforts.

“We are also focusing on the youth, showing them key areas of innovation for a sustainable future”, he added

Babirye Annet also Deputy Show Manager, urged exhibitors to register early and secure stalls.

She noted that each stall will go for UGX 600,000, though this amount is negotiable.

She emphasized the importance of separating the agricultural and education shows.

“Stakeholders observed that when both shows are merged, students tend to crowd exhibitor stalls, making it difficult for other attendees to receive proper engagement.

That’s why we’ve planned to end with the Education Show,” she explained.
