Dr Lawrence Mulindwa, the patron of Mawokota Ssaza football team gave assurance to Banamawokota over winning this year’s Masaza cup as they to end a 12-years trophy drought.
Mulindwa was appointed Mawokota Ssaza team patron ending his long time out of Masaza cup competition.
In less than a month since his return Mawokota is steadily getting in a shape to become favorite capturing great player, arranging the strong team which will work under Coach Steven Mutono.
In an effort to chess for the trophy, Mawokota held a fundraising dinner at Javine Hotel Ndeba on June 13 where Dr Mulindwa released a bold statement “every person is important, our mission is to win trophy this year, to reach that we need numbers therefore we need Mawokota United.
“If we work work together, I can’t lead this attempt and fail, I believe I can’t lead for only three minutes and fail to win the trophy. How can we say that Mawokota failed a county with seven sub-county if clubs which is managed with few individuals succeeds” Dr Mulindwa added.
On the fundraising Over 30 Millions Uganda Shillings were contributed from People from Mawokota besides Dr Mulindwa who refused to say his contribution
“Already we started the work, we need much amount of money so if I say any amount I will dishonest cause we can’t expect how much amount is needed”
The dinner attracted key figures from Mawokota and few friends of Dr Mulindwa such as Simon Ssekankya.

The other present were Donozio Kaggwa who traveled from Mbale for a Dinner he called up people from Mawokota and other counties give in all the support for their respective Masaza teams.
The event also attracted Mpigi district women’s member of Parliament Teddy Nambooze who said “This time with our patron Dr Lawrence Mulindwa every sign shows that we going to win, always we been with political leaders who have been working upon their interests living our people on different ends but this time unity is paramount “.
On Sunday 15th Mawokota at Buwama playground will unveil the full squad to take them through 2025 Masaza cup.
