3YRS CAMPAIGN: Swans Rugby Girls Draw Thins Lines To End Gender Violence & Promote Sports Values

Teachers, coaches, sponsors, girls and others have been urged to fight gender base violence in different sports disciplines including Rugby.

This was revealed at a 3 days training workshop over the weekend, organized at the Innophine hotel in  Entebbe municipality.

The trainer’s training workshop highlighted the need to fight gender based violence and they showing signs of  the decay in the  sport, said report.

The trainers’ training workshop attracted hundreds of participates including teachers, Girl in Rugby, coaches, local leaders  plus media in  drawing thin lines  to fight  gender based violence and the rotten manners killing the sport across the global continent including Uganda.

Sexual harassment, tribalism, nepotism, ethics, principles and sports values are some of the complaints that Rugby girls revealed during the closed door meeting in Entebbe.

The trainers’ workshop of teachers, coaches, local leaders and others addressed issues of mental health, safe guarding practices, positive masculinity, respect plus coaching girls in rugby with sensitivity, said report.

Lots of speakers made presentations on how can we protect the girl child and boy child in promoting Rugby values plus rolling out school strategy of the sport.

The 3days training workshop brain washed  government invention and the need to fight gender based violence in schools, organizations and corporate enterprises.

The year’s training was organized  by the Uganda Olympic Committee and supported by the  Swans sports club, Olympic Solidarity international and the Uganda Rugby Union.

Key note speakers and presenters including Patricia Nanteza Mbowa, Dennis Okia,Jude Rwakayanga, Cissy Musiime and others with  conclusion to zero tolerance to bullying to promote different sports disciplines across the continent
