36 spots left for grabs at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in USA

A year left for the maiden 2026 world cup the battle of who qualifies intensifies each and every day .

Canada, Mexico and the USA will join to Co-host the world cup 2026 and a total of 48 countries will represent.

A total of 12 nations have so far booked ticket to the World with now 36 spots left to grab.

The qualified nations are Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Iran, Japan, Jordan, South Korea, Uzebekistan, New Zealand, Canada, Ecuador and Mexico.

In Africa only 10 countries can qualify for the tournament, 9 automatically while 1 will play the playoffs to determine her qualifications.

Qualifications in Africa were last played on March and will return to action in September.

The nine group winners will advance directly to the world cup and the four best second place teams will fight for an intercontinental playoff spot.

Uganda lies in group G with Algeria, Mozambique, Botswana Guinea and Somalia with Algeria and Mozambique topping the group with 15 and 12 points respectively.

Uganda Cranes

Uganda Cranes will be in action again in September against Somalia to fight for the spot to United States of America (USA).

Uganda has never qualified for the World Cup Tournament.

Argentina are the defending champions of the tournament having defeated France in Qatar 2022 4:2 in penalties
